Mandisa, best known for competing on , died of According to an autopsy report obtained by PEOPLE, the Grammy Award-winner was found dead in her home on April 18 by her friends. The manner of death was listed as natural. She was reportedly "last known alive approximately three weeks" before she was found.
Mandisa was 47 years old. It also stated that the disease can contribute to various serious health conditions like Type 2 diabetes and heart disease.
Mandisa Lynn Hundley appeared on season five of American Idol. After finishing in ninth place, the star went on to have a successful career as a gospel and contemporary Christian recording artist. She was nominated for five Grammy Awards and eventually won the award for Best Contemporary Christina Music Album for her album Overcomer in 2014.
