Body found in the search for missing Michael Mosley A body has been found in the search for Dr Michael Mosley after he went missing on the Greek island of Symi. The body, which has not yet been identified, was discovered with an umbrella close to caves known as The Abyss five days after the doctor had gone missing. Rescuers had yesterday began focusing on the area.
British journalists and a bar worker were the first to see the body. It was discovered beneath a fence that runs around the bar on Agia Marina beach on the Greek island. The hospitality worker has been identified by the Express as Greek bar owner Ilias Tsavaris .
He rushed to the scene after hearing about an observation made by the town's mayor. Tsavaris explains: "They saw it with the boat. The mayor came and saw something so that is when they called me and said 'Hey they saw something go and check there'.
" Police said the body is believed to be that of the missing British TV presenter. A police spokesman, who spoke on condition of anonymity because of an ongoing investigation, said the discovery was made on a rocky coast by a private boat and that formal identification was pending. The news of the tragic find comes after a massive search and rescue effort to find the BBC and ITV This Morning star was launched last Thursday morning.
