Media personality Betty Kyallo has sought to take the legal route against frequent tormentor Edgar Obare by filing a defamation lawsuit against the blogger. A move occasioned by a new claim by Obare that Kyallo and new boyfriend Charlie Jones ran away with an unpaid bill at a city restaurant, the news anchor asserts: “I have decided to take legal action against people who defame me/my brand without any factual information.” “They do this for clicks, likes and views but it is extremely detrimental to all the hardwork I’ve continuously put in over the years.
There has to be consequences for such malicious actions. I will no longer be tolerating such spiteful, evil-intentioned, fake and false stories against me,” She further warns. Through Saluny Advocates LLP, the lawsuit as seen by this writer demands that Obare retract on the allegation and issue an apology to Kyallo.
The suit also demands an apology be published on the page among other demands, failure to which Obare will pay libel damages, as well as get a restraining order from further posting defamatory content against Kyallo and Jones..
