Tropical Storm Beryl is, as of 5PM Sunday, continuing north-northwest as it inches closer to the Victoria Crossroads, according to a Sunday National Weather Service bulletin. Beryl is now expected to make landfall in the vicinity of Matagorda Bay, and it’s still anticipated to upgrade to a Category 1 Hurricane by the time it does so. But, the NWS still forecasts the storm could intensify into a Category 2 Hurricane.

The storm has sped up slightly from 10 mph back to 12 mph. Winds are still expected to reach speeds of 60-80 mph, and the total rainfall expected has remained stagnant at four to 8 inches total. The Victoria Crossroads is, as of 5PM Sunday, under a Flood Watch, and there could be instances of tornados in the area.



Previously, Sunday morning: As of 10 a.m. Sunday, not much has changed regarding Beryl’s expected impact on the Crossroads.

The storm is expected to bring significant rainfall, heavy winds, and the possibility of tornados to the surrounding areas, according to a Sunday National Weather Service bulletin. There is currently a Tropical Storm Warning in effect for the Victoria Crossroads, the Coastal Bend, and Bee County. A Flood Watch is also in effect for the Victoria Crossroads, Refugio, and Aransas.

There is also a Hurricane Warning in effect for the area. The storm is currently moving northwest at 10 mph, and is expected to turn slightly north as it approaches land late Sunday to early Monday. It is still considered a Tropical Storm, but meteorologi.
