BERNIE Winter makes a shock discovery about one of Joseph’s school pals in Coronation Street. The character - played by Jane Hazlegrove - has had a tumultuous few months on the ITV soap. Son Paul is battling with his tragic MND diagnosis, while his estranged dad Denny recently showed up and tried to con the family.

Then Bernie's quest to find her long-lost son brought a shock when policeman Kit Green revealed he was the man she was looking for. However, Bernie has opted to keep this information from her other two children, Paul and his twin sister Gemma. Meanwhile, Bernie has also been helping Gemma and her husband Chesney deal with their money woes and the fact Chesney's son Joseph seems ashamed of his roots now that he's attending a private school, paid for by his grandmother, Linda.



In upcoming Coronation Street scenes, Chesney is serving up kebabs for Joseph’s delighted school mates, who have come round for dinner. But Bernie gets a shock when she sees one of the dads who has come to collect his son. Who has she spotted? ITV's soap boss Iain MacLeod recently spoke about the Joseph storyline, saying: "I hope it's one of those stories where you'll watch it and recognise the down-to-earth family drama from things in your own family.

"It feels brilliantly close to home." Meanwhile, Bernie's daughter Gemma has a tough week after taking drastic action for the sake of her kids. Gemma and Chesney have quads together as well as Joseph, meaning there's lots of little ones to pr.
