A Bengaluru woman narrated her “very harrowing and unsettling experience” with her recent Ola cab ride. In a detailed thread, the woman stated how the initial fare reflected a range between Rs 347 and 356 for about 25 kilometers of journey. booking today in Bangalore I had booked an Ola Auto which showed a fare range of Rs 347-356 for a ~25km journey (adding the rest as a thread of tweets below)— Tanisha Mallya (@tanisha_mallya) Upon reaching the destination, the driver insisted the user pay him Rs 470.
The irate driver used swear words at the user when denied the staggering amount. He asked the lady to get back into the auto stating he will drop her back at the pickup location. As the lady walked back to her apartment after paying Rs 356, the driver started screaming and hurling abuses.
She states that “I was lucky I live with my family.” Her father intervened but the abusive cabbie came closer and screamed at the lady’s face stating that she was lying. The woman lamented that she has not been able to get any customer support from the Ola cabs.
She further wrote how lucky she was as the incident happened not very late at night (around 8:10 pm), that she could argue back in Kannada, that her drop-off location was her apartment, and that her father was nearby. She added that due to the new meter fare system on the ride hailing platform, she is unable to get an invoice or driver details, besides the CRN number. so far, not even a chance to speak to their customer ca.
