The limit on liquids in hand luggage remains at 100ml, which must be removed from bags and placed in a clear plastic bag. It’s despite upcoming changing to the security process. People should nevertheless come prepared as usual, an airport spokesperson advised.
Belfast International Airport, a member of the VINCI Airports network, also advised passengers to book car parking in advance to prevent delays. The Airport welcomed a record 1.3 million passengers in the first quarter of 2024 and passengers continue to enjoy visiting popular destinations including Tunisia, Cyprus, Malta, Turkey, Florida, Italy and Bulgaria, with significant numbers expected on a daily basis during the summer months.
Dan Owens, CEO, Belfast International Airport said: “With work underway on our new additions to the terminal, we want to ensure passengers have an enjoyable experience before they jet off on holiday this year. “We have recruited extra staff for the summer and are in the process of a major five-year investment programme which most recently saw the completion of a new immigration expansion area, increasing capacity by 50% and improving processing times at the border. “If you are planning to travel this summer, we strongly advise that passengers, come prepared with pre-booked parking and ready for security, making sure any liquids are within the 100 ml limit.
