Tim Burton is back with Beetlejuice Beetlejuice. The film's first trailer dropped today, with fans getting a glimpse at the hotly anticipated sequel starring Winona Ryder and Catherine O'Hara, alongside Jenna Ortega. Ryder's character Lydia Deetz her daughter Astrid, played by Ortega, are seen in the teaser.
"Beetlejuice, Beetlejuice, Beetlejuice," they say – summoning the character last witnessed in the 1988 cult classic. It's been decades in the making and the short clip is the first look at Tim Burton's work ahead of the film's theatre release on September 6. Pictures) According to the film's synopsis, the flick follows "an unexpected family tragedy" that brings "three generations of the Deetz family" back to Winter River, Connecticut, where Beetlejuice was last awakened. Lydia "discovers the mysterious model of the town in the attic and the portal to the Afterlife is accidentally opened", per the description.
