Just a week after losing the Women's World Championship, Becky Lynch has officially become a free agent, with her WWE contract expiring Saturday at midnight. Lynch had been making cryptic comments on social media and even on WWE programming as fans and reporters followed her contract status and the dwindling days remaining on the deal. Fightful Select reports that Lynch now is a free agent for the first time since 2013, when she signed with WWE, but she hasn't been an active free agent since about 2006.

Company sources also said WWE has communicated that they'd like to continue working with The Man. Those close to Lynch don't expect her to jump to another company, but many do expect she will receive significant offers. Industry sources, Fightful said, have long expected The Man to receive the largest contract offer of any woman in wrestling history.

Matt Cardona took to X shortly after midnight to invite Lynch to appear at GCW's Cage of Survival in Atlantic City, NJ on Sunday. During her 11-year tenure with WWE, Lynch just about did it all, winning the first women's WrestleMania main event at WrestleMania 35, capturing seven world titles and one NXT Women's Championship, and winning the 2019 Royal Rumble. Lynch won the vacant Women's World Championship in April, then lost it to Liv Morgan at Ki.
