Alex previously visited a neurologist for her migraines (Image: Alex Jones) BBC's One Show presenter Alex Jones has opened up on a health problem that she often suffers from, and what she is doing to help relieve symptoms. The 47-year-old TV host shared a picture of what looked like a massage bed to her Instagram Stories. She explained to her 355,000 followers that she was trying out acupuncture - a form of alternative medicine and a component of traditional Chinese medicine in which thin needles are inserted into the body.

Captioning the photo, Alex wrote: "A bit of acupuncture. Lots of people had recommended it to help with migraines, which I got frequently and even though I was a bit sceptical, it has definitely reduced them by about two-thirds." She added: "Worth a go if you're a fellow sufferer" followed by a loving emoji.

The NHS website says that migraines tend to be a very bad headache with a throbbing pain on one side of the head. However, sufferers can also suffer from "aura" which can include warning signs like seeing zigzag lines, numbness or tingling, feeling dizzy or difficulty speaking just before the migraine starts. function loadOvpScript(){let el=document.
