BBC Race Across the World contestant Betty, who is taking on the competition alongside her brother James, has released a lengthy and heartfelt statement following the "genuinely breathtaking" response to the latest episode. In emotional and candid scenes, Betty bravely opened up about her heartbreaking diagnosis that left her "without a womb". During the episode that aired on Wednesday, May 22, Betty opened up about wanting to be "resilient" and "brave", but felt her condition - Mayer-Rokitansky-Küster-Hauser (MRKH) Syndrome - left her in a "negative" mindset.

The 25-year-old explained to the camera that after her 16th birthday, she was diagnosed with MRKH. The condition left her without a uterus, a womb, and one kidney. You can read more on this here .
