BBC have planned a special tribute to Dr Michael Mosley one month after his tragic death . On Friday July 12, presenters and audiences of the organisation will be asked to do something in memory of the TV and radio doctor, for ‘Just One Thing Day’. The name derives from his BBC Radio 4 podcast , Just One Thing, where each episode focused on one thing that listeners could do to improve their health and wellbeing.
On his popular show, he made the advice simple to understand, but it was always backed up with scientific reasoning. On BBC Radio 4, the Today show will welcome contributions from those who changed their lives as a result of Mosley ’s tips. Anita Rani will then reflect on the impact Michael has had on her own life with a focus on the benefits of exercise during Woman’s Hour.
On the PM programme, Evan Davies will be experimenting with using a cold shower to wake up. Mosley often put health practises to the test himself. While The Food Programme will revisit previous Just One Thing topics including oily fish and turmeric.
To round off the coverage on the station, On Front Row will celebrate how listening to music or playing an instrument can bring a sense of calm. Other BBC shows will also celebrate Mosley’s positive impact. Radio 2’s Tina Daheley and 6 Music’s Craig Charles will both get involved to improve their own wellbeing and BBC Radio 1 will mark the day too.
