NEWSREADER Maryam Moshiri caused concern among viewers after coughing live on air meant she had difficulty speaking. Maryam, 46, was unable to finish her introduction to a clip due to the coughing. As a result, the director cut to the clip slightly earlier than planned.
The presenter shared a clip of the awkward moment on X (formerly Twitter), writing: “When you get that horrible tickly throat and coughing fit - but you are broadcasting! “Had to give up after a bit! Thanks to director Sarah for going to the clip early for me!!” Viewers took to X to share their worry for Maryam, with one writing under her post: “I always feel sorry when this happens to news presenters. “Is there a reason why reporters don’t seem to be allowed to have a glass of water on the desk? ” As it happens, this is not the first time Maryam has gone viral. Last December, the BBC presenter was caught giving.
