star Jon Kay has confirmed Sally Nugent's replacement on the programme. The anchorman, 54, took to his Instagram page on Wednesday (June 26) to announce who his new co-star would be for the week. Sarah Campbell, who is a regular on the programme, will be stepping up to host the show alongside Jon.
Giving Sarah a warm welcome to the hosting team, he penned: "Good morning from your Breakfast team. Lovely to have Sarah with us - covering for Sally this week." In the same announcement post, the TV host marked a significant 12-month anniversary for the programme.
He added: "It was exactly a year ago today that we moved into our lovely new studio." Jon continued: "Over the last 12 months our team has interviewed hundreds of guests on the sofa, covered thousands of stories and last month welcomed the BBC News at One to join us in Salford. Happy Birthday studio!" Along with his update, he included a happy real time selfie alongside Sarah in the studio.
