Weatherman tells host not to ask about weather on polling day BBC Breakfast had to move on quickly today (June 23) as a presenter refused to speak about a "banned" topic. Roger Johnson and Rachel Burden were back at the helm of the show as he touched on the topic of the General Election . After discussing postal votes for the upcoming polling day, on July 4, the presenter said: "One of the facts is when you get to polling day is the weather.

Simple, very simple. "We don't know what it'll be like on July 4. I'm not going to ask Darren, but we do know that the weather is picking up over the next few days.

" The BBC show cut to weatherman Darren Bett, as Roger went back on his word and asked him: "The parties like good weather, don't they Darren? Because it gets people out." The weather forecaster put his hands up as he responded: "Please don't ask me about the weather forecast for polling day". He added: "I'm not allowed to talk about that anyway!" He swiftly tried to move on as he said: "And we've got no idea.

The weather's going to change later in the coming week, but in the next few days it really is warming up." With that, he moved on to his full forecast for the week, while brushing the General Election under the rug. This is a breaking showbiz story and is being constantly updated.
