A bar manager, who was among the first to spot a body found during the search for TV doctor Michael Mosley, has spoken out. Michael Mosley, a 67-year-old television personality known for his appearances on The One Show and This Morning, was last seen by friends at Agios Nikolaos beach on Wednesday, 5 June before he set off for a walk towards the island's centre. The body, which is yet to be officially identified, was found under a fence surrounding a bar on Agia Marina beach, an area characterised by its hilly, rocky terrain that descends to the sea.

Bar staff reported that helicopters had been scouring the area "every day". Ilias Tsavaris, 38, the manager of the Agia Marina bar, was one of the first to see the body along with journalists. He revealed that the island's mayor "saw something" near the bar's fence and alerted the staff, reports .



"They saw it with the boat. The mayor came and saw something so that is when they called me and said 'Hey they saw something go and check there'," he explained. "They called me, they said 'You know what we saw something from far away, can you go and check' so I went there.

" He added: "So when I walked up I saw something like a body to make sure. You don't see a dead body every day, it is not a warzone, it's summer you are supposed to have fun and swimming." "He came from Pedi OK, and he walked not through the restaurant.

If he had walked through there (the bar) we would have checked the cameras." He added that "rescuers had searched tha.
