The Morgan Community College (MCC) Center for Arts and Community Enrichment (CACE) brought renowned photographer Maggie Martin, with her exhibit of time-lapsed photography of the night sky, to the lower gallery at 300 Main Street in Fort Morgan. Martin, who primarily teaches workshops on how to take pictures of the night sky, said bringing her photography to CACE allows her to put herself out there a little more. “This has been a fantastic opportunity,” Martin said.

“CACE has been just wonderful, and it’s been such a pleasure working with them. When they first approached me, they asked if I had any photos from this area, and I realized that I had never photographed out here. Then, a surprise came when the Northern Lights alert showed up on my phone in May, and when I looked at the forecast, all of Colorado was cloudy except in this corner.

I ended up in Jackson Lake to capture the event.” Martin said the images she captured at Jackson Lake are some of her favorite pieces. She set up her camera to continually take photos throughout the event, creating a timelapse.

She then created a spectacular image by stacking images on top of each other. Over the years, she has photographed her way around the country, and she can tell you exactly where each photo was taken and the story behind it. Besides teaching about photography, Martin runs Colorado Astrophotography.

She specializes in night photography, workshops, date nights, photo shoots and more. Her website says she will .
