Asda has rolled out a £1 'summer' sauce set to transport Britons to the beach but warns it could 'divide the nation'. Asda, which is one of the UK's largest supermarket chains and retailers, has launched chip shop curry mayonnaise in its stores. Asda, which is rivalled by the likes of Tesco, Sainsbury's, Morrisons , Lidl and Aldi , says the new launch comes as part of a seven-strong range of new summer-ready condiments, including Peri Peri Marinade and Ranch Dressing.
The condiment is "ideal for dipping and drizzling over chips," Asda says. It adds: "The creamy sauce is packed with a blend of warming spices, perfect for those nostalgic for the classic chip shop taste." Asda expects the new launch to divide the nation, knowing that curry sauce on chips already divides fans with just 24% of Brits choosing it from a fish and chip shop.
