Anurag Kashyap recently opened up about the changes Bollywood has been going through due to OTT platforms and different studios coming in. He also revealed that at times most of the money used for production doesn't go into making a movie, but in fulfilling demands of big stars on set. While talking to Humans of Cinema YouTube channel, Anurag said he was shocked to see the number of vanity vans on the sets of Sacred Games.
He hinted at how big studios like Netflix began splurging money on stars that hadn't seen the kind of culture before. He said that the culture in filmmaking has now changed and it can't be reversed. He added, "those people started getting paid who were totally ignored, which is the technical crew.

But a lot of extra things started coming in.” He also looked back on some of the big budget films that have flopped in recent times and explained that the budget doesn't go into filmmaking. He was quoted by Indian Express saying, "they aren’t spending on just the film.
