Article content Vancouver rock duo Japandroids has released the song Chicago from its coming fourth and final album Fate & Alcohol. Due out on Arts & Crafts/ANTI on Oct. 18, the album is the first new material from the duo of guitarist/vocalist Brian King and drummer/vocalist Dave Prowse since 2017s raved-about Near to the Wild Heart of Life.
The band’s long hiatus didn’t diminish its impact in indie rock circles, where albums such as 2009s Post-Nothing, 2012s Celebration Rock and Wild Heart of Life remain highly influential. Chicago boasts all of the group’s signatures, from slamming drums and thrashed out guitar shreds to a rousing football chant chorus that you can already imagine being yet another singalong classic in concert. No farewell tour dates have been announced, but fans can probably expect the band to play some key farewell shows.
For those who haven’t already mortgaged their homes to get tickets to any number of globe-trotting major tours this year, promoter Live Nation has a sunny season special that adds up. Now through July 30, fans can get four tickets for $80 for a thousand different shows taking place across Canada this season. Visit to score tickets to everything from Billy Idol’s Rebel Yell 2024 Rogers Arena show on July 30 to the RED FUTURE: Snotty Nose Rez Kids with Travis Thompson at Malkin Bowl on Sept.
21. Many others shows are available at a budget price using the code 24 Summer. This year would have marked the 50th anniversary of the fou.
