You'll encounter a few dastardly warriors and odd folks as you continue your adventure in Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree. One of these is an old woman who prefers to stay in a secluded room. You'll need to obtain a key that unlocks her room, and you'll have to talk to her at certain points, including an instance where you must wear a specific kind of armor. Map: Hornsent Grandam and Storeroom Key locationThe map above shows the location of the Hornsent Grandam and the Storeroom Key, which is used to unlock her room. The goal is to enter Belurat Tower Settlement and proceed further until you reach the Small Private Altar Site of Grace. How to get the Storeroom KeyExit the Small Private Altar Site of Grace and look immediately to your left before ascending the steps. There's a walkway with two spectral mages. Beyond this area is the storeroom that's currently locked.Now, it's time to find the Storeroom Key. Go up the steps and take out the Horned Warrior enemy. Then, follow the path along the left-hand side. You should see an alleyway to your right. Climbing up another walkway to reach the Storeroom KeyFollow the alleyway until you see an opening to a house (it's near the "sewer waterfall" at the opposite street). Climb the ladder and turn left to see a walkway above you. To reach it, hop on the ruined walls and rubble, then traverse the rooftop so you can make the jump. You'll find the Storeroom Key in a room.Go ahead and return to the Small Private Altar Site of Grace, and use the key to unlock the room. Chat with the Hornsent Grandam, who tells you of the cruelty of Messmer. You'll also notice a rather peculiar lion head on the opposite table. Defeat the Divine Beast Dancing LionNext, you must defeat the Divine Beast Dancing Lion, the main boss in Belurat. This creature can use both lightning-infused and frost-infused abilities, and it has a rather erratic attack pattern. If you're having trouble, you can explore the Gravesite Plain and other areas of Belurat to look for Scadutree Fragments and Revered Spirit Ashes. These items boost your character's capabilities.Once you've defeated the Divine Beast Dancing Lion, you'll receive its boss Remembrance, as well as the Divine Beast Head armor. Hornsent Grandam rewards: Watchful Spirit and Scorpion StewNow, it's time to receive a couple of rewards from the Hornsent Grandam in Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree. Return to the old woman's room and equip the Divine Beast head when you talk to her. She'll be quite surprised. Exhaust her dialogue and she'll reward you with the Watchful Spirit spell, an incantation that summons a guardian spirit above your character's head.Next, fast travel back to the Site of Grace and go back to the Hornsent Grandam. She'll give you a Scorpion Stew, a consumable that grants a bit of physical damage negation and gradual HP recovery. She also asks that you help her son, the Hornsent, one of the adventurers you meet during your travels.Important: You must do these steps before you defeat Messmer and burn the Sealing Tree. The latter is a point of no return that causes some NPCs to disappear, ending their quest arcs prematurely. The Hornsent Grandam herself doesn't disappear, but she won't have dialogue past that point. Hornsent Grandam reward: Gourmet Scorpion StewMuch later in the campaign, you can obtain another item from the Hornsent Grandam after you defeat Messmer the Impaler in Shadow Keep. In our playthrough, we also decided to summon her son, the Hornsent, to complete his revenge arc.In any case, return to the Hornsent Grandam once Messmer has been defeated.
