Alison Hammond gave an update on the beloved show (Image: @alisonhammond55/Instagram/ITV) In a recent social media post, This Morning's Alison Hammond has scotched the rumours surrounding her ITV tenure hosting For The Love Of Dogs, ever since she stepped in to fill the shoes of the late Paul O'Grady who unexpectedly passed away from a heart attack aged 67 last March. Despite fulfilling the role since April end, viewers have been far from unanimous in their appreciation for her presenting style on the show, with many querying the suitability of a presenter without pets at home in her private life. However, any such questions directed towards her future involvement have been dismissed by an ITV spokesperson earlier this month, stating they were "really pleased" with Alison's oeuvre and refraining from speculating on what lies ahead.

Sharing a joyful image of herself holding a dog originally posted by the programme's official Instagram handle from the final episode's shoot, Alison assured her fans that she had 'loved every minute' of her stint on the show. Re-sharing the original message which read, "We're back at @Battersea tonight for the final episode this series of #ForTheLoveOfDogs with @AlisonHammond55!" Alison simply added her voice to the collective sentiment: "Final episode of 'for the love of dogs [dog emoji]' I loved every minute of it." Insiders previously revealed that executives were "very disappointed" with the new show.
