A WARNING has been issued to Brits travelling abroad next month as passengers face missing their flights. The work involves resurfacing slip roads as well as replacing road markings and bridge joints, said National Highways. Drivers heading to the airport have been warned they may need to "leave a little bit of extra time to get to work or check-in for flights". National Highways project manager, Rob Williams, said: "This is important, if routine, wear and tear work.



"We are aiming to be well out of the way before the start of the school summer holiday period. "We're working closely with the airport to ensure they are aware of our timetable and a small number of overnight closures which will mean drivers needing to leave a little bit of extra time to get to work or check-in for flights." Overnight roadworks Work to lay the new surface will begin on June 10 between junction five at the airport and junction six at Hale Barns.

The entire eastbound carriageway , between junction six and junction four, will shut overnight on June 11 and 12 a.
