A Place In The Sun's Laura Hamilton with her late friend and co-star Jonnie Irwin (Image: Instagram) A Place In The Sun presenter Laura Hamilton was left fuming after discovering fraudsters had been leveraging her identity following her participation in the London Marathon. At 42, Laura was among the many participants of the London Marathon, which took place in April 2024. She ran in support of the WellChild charity and in memory of her friend Jonnie Irwin who died after battling terminal lung cancer in early February, having initially been diagnosed back in 2020.

Although she established her own JustGiving page for donations, Laura was outraged upon finding out that certain individuals had set up fraudulent pages in her name, even after she had finished running the marathon. Speaking to The Sun, Laura revealed: "I raised five and a half grand for them, but after I ran the marathon there were people saying 'do you know there are people setting up scam pages', saying I'm still fundraising for the marathon and still trying to get donations". function loadOvpScript(){let el=document.
