BBC News viewers were left completely baffled as an Apprentice runner up appeared in a report. The candidate competed in the most recent series of the long-running BBC business competition. Phil Turner , 37, lost out to boutique gym owner Rachel Woolford, 27, in the final of The Apprentice.

However, the media personality recently made another TV appearance on the BBC News at Six last night. He appeared in a report filmed from his luxurious East Sussex home alongside his wife Teresa. They were seen preparing food in their stunning kitchen as they discussed paying the costs of a recent re-mortgage.



"I think to be honest the interest rates for us was the biggest hit because you have a pool of money that comes in every month. "And normally you kind of set a bit aside and say, you know, that's what we'll have for our holidays or that's what we'll have, like I say for our takeaways, etc. A big part of that chunk was just gone.

" However, some viewers didn't think he was the best choice of contributor for the report as they claim he may not be the best example of the average family. They took to X - formerly known as Twitter - as they lambasted his inclusion, particularly as they consider him to be a wealthy business owner. One viewer stated: "BBC News at 6 just went to an everyday family affected by interest rates but the husband was Phil from The Apprentice which seemed a bit of a weird/distracting choice.
