But not too far behind her were Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes and MLB star Shohei Ohtani , each hoping to pick up a second win for Best Athlete, Men's Sports for a chance to join LeBron James , Lance Armstrong and Tiger Woods as the only athletes to win the category multiple times. It was also a big night for first time nominee Coco Gauff , with the reigning U.S.
Open title holder nominated alongside Clark for Best Athlete, Women's Sports—golfer Nelly Korda and basketball star A'ja Wilson round out the category—as well as going up against fellow tennis stars Carlos Alcaraz , Novak Djokovic and Iga Swiatek for Best Tennis Player. Other first time nominees during the big event included those in the Best Breakthrough Athlete category: USC basketball player Juju Watkins , LSU gymnst Haleigh Bryant , Houston Texans football player C.J.
Stroud and San Antonio Spurs' Victor Wembanyama . But it wasn't just the sports pros bringing the star power to the room. Even royalty made an appearance with Prince Harr.
