The resourceful royal, 43, who looked stunning in a pale pink silk dress and a pair of pink suede pumps, deployed plastic heel protectors to prevent her from sinking into the damp grass while mingling with other guests.

Rather than risking getting stuck in the mud - or ruining her £495 Emmy London pumps - Zara sported heel stoppers which can be purchased online for as little as £3.99. Placed on the bottom of the heel, the attachments work by increasing the surface area of the heel.



By replacing the pointy stiletto with a wider plastic base, Zara was able to glide across the grass without having to worry about sinking, which could have led to her losing her balance.
