The popular event offering wine tasting, a wide variety of food options, vendors, crafts, entertainment children’s activities and more marked its eighth year at Charles R. Wood Festival Commons in Lake George last weekend. “We had a blast,” said Becky Ellen, 42, of Stillwater New York.

“It’s been just a fun day with friends.” This year’s festival included 29 wineries, 20 distilleries, four breweries and three meaderies. “This is our second time, even with the rain, sill a good time,” said Brad Gonzalez, 32 of Saratoga.

“I’m not really big on wine, my wife is, but we’re having a good day.” “It’s fun,” said Marissa Franklyn, 58 of Queensbury. “I heard about it every year, but this is my first time.

I keep eating and eating, if I eat any more, I’m not going to have any room for the wine.” The festival is considered one of the largest wine festivals in New York according to the event’s website. “I like a good red,” said Chelsea Struthers, 27, of Hudson New York.

“This is a good way to try a bunch of them and find new ones I like. I don’t get all fancy and swirl it or anything, I just drink it. Probably not fancy to pair my wine with a hotdog.
