Tomahawk Steakhouse has announced the sudden closure of its Darlington restaurant. The chain - which has been operating from the town's DL1 leisure complex for several years - made the shock announcement online, "apologising for any inconvenience". Bosses have not yet given a reason behind the restaurant shutting the doors, which was confirmed via a closure notice on the venue's website.

The notice instead pointed customers to other nearby Tomahawk venues such as Yarm, Potto, and Acklam. DL1 - which was formerly known as Feethams leisure complex - is currently home to a Nandos, VUE Cinema, Subway, Hungry Horse pub The Woollen Mill, and more.

" One person said: "Lovely service, friendly staff, great food, and aesthetic interior. Great place for any occasion, I recommend highly." Despite the closure, Tomahawk continues to grow across the country, with restaurants in Harrogate and Sunderland set to open their doors soon.
