Weiss Farms' strawberries, which arrived early this year because of the hot weather, are featured on the menus of many local restaurants. They also sell out fast at the Elmwood-Bidwell Farmers Market each Saturday. Strawberry season, and the resulting pastries, salads, compotes and cocktails, is here.

Farmer Bob Weiss, of Weiss Farms, has been selling out of his popular "very sweet" pesticide-free berries at the Elmwood Village Farmers Market. He's also been supplying strawberries to local chefs, such as the crew at the Grange Community Kitchen. "They're rolling along really nicely now," Weiss said.

"We've hit the peak of the season." Savor the strawberry specials before the short season passes. Weiss' fruit arrived earlier than normal this year thanks to a warm spring and is already starting to dwindle.

The Grange (22 Main St., Hamburg) has Weiss Farms berries on the menu. They are mashed into a jam and served on ricotta toast with basil and toasted pine nuts.

They are also available on an olive oil cake. Cornelia at the Buffalo AKG (1285 Elmwood Ave.) offers a seasonal strawberry burrata salad, scallops with a sweet-and-sour strawberry rhubarb gastrique sauce and a parfait with strawberry rhubarb compote.

Daniela (387 Forest Ave.) makes a berry-topped, Italian tiramisu, dubbed berrimisu. The Farm Shop (235B Lexington Ave.

) carries strawberry oat cereal from Savage Wheat Project and strawberry milk from Burley Berries. Mojo Market (3030 Delaware Ave.) is baking glazed strawb.
