It’s no mystery that we love a good pizza here in the UK, whether it’s a classic Margarita or the fiercely debated Hawaiian pizza. London has its fair share of pizza restaurants, since pizza was first introduced to the capital in the 1870s at a restaurant in Covent Garden. 11 London restaurants made the list, and these four are in south London: Dinner for One Hundred, Nunhead Located on Telegraph Hill, Dinner for One Hundred originally started as a dinner for 100 people in 2020 just before the pandemic.

Now the business operates as a pizzeria in The Station Hill Café on Telegraph Hill, serving a range of hearty pizzas including vegan options and a gluten free pizza, as well as their popular Giant Cheesy Garlic Bread. They also offer delivery via Uber Eats and Instagram DM between Thursday and Sundays if you fancy ordering a pizza to eat at home. Napoli on the Road first began as a travelling pizza busineses created by Michele Pascarella, who made pizzas in his Ape Piaggio pizza oven all over London before setting up shop in Richmond and Chiswick. The restaurant, considered to be the ‘first’ pizzeria to bring contemporary high crust pizza to the UK, was also previously named as best pizzeria in Europe by the online guide 50 Top Pizza, while chef Michele Pascarella was awarded Global Pizza Maker of the Year in 20.
