McCrindle Research released its annual baby names report and while Isla and Oliver topped the list, there were several names that had fallen out of the top 100 altogether. The girls' names Charlie, Jasmine, Claire, Gracie and Lilly have decreased in popularity over the last 12 months; so too have the boys' names Connor, Ashton, Vincent, Elias and Jaxon.
'Traditional' boy names including Charles and Harry have also seen the biggest decrease between 2022 and 2023. Charles just made the cut in the top 100 list and dropped to spot 99, while Harry fell 17 spots and landed at number 35. The girls' names Charlie, Jasmine, Claire, Gracie and Lilly have decreased in popularity over the last 12 months, and so too have the boys' names Connor, Ashton, Vincent, Elias and Jaxon It came as no surprise that Oliver reigns supreme among list of boy names for the 11th year in a row.
