A fish and chip shop in Fair Oak has been recognised for its 'high standards' and received a national chip shop award. Sonny’s Fish & Chips in Fair Oak has been recognised by the National Federation of Fish Friers (NFFF) for its presentation, cleanliness, staff training, equipment, sales skills and most importantly the quality of it's fish and chips. The chippy has a rating of 4.

4 stars out of 5 on Google. The NFFF are the trade body that represents the nation’s fish and chip shops and aims to reward chip shops raising standards within the fish and chip industry. To qualify, each shop must go through an inspection by an NFFF Approved Assessor who assesses the shop’s hygiene, presentation, frying sills and more.



Leonard and Ellie Harris are the managers of Sonny’s Fish & Chips, and have been at the helm for five months. Leonard said: “We are delighted to gain our place in the scheme. "To be recognised as one of the top fish and chip shops in the country by the NFFF is indeed an honour and a credit to our hardworking staff, who we would like to offer our sincere thanks for the continued hard work and efforts to maintain our excellent reputation.
