Nebraska’s most beautiful restaurant is in the place where Arbor Day began, according to People magazine. The lobby at the Lied Lodge is full of rich woodwork, similar to that in its Timbers restaurant. Timbers was named Nebraska’s most beautiful restaurant by Open Table app editors in a People magazine feature.
Timbers at Lied Lodge in Nebraska City won the crown on a list featured in the publication’s 50th anniversary edition. Editors from the Open Table restaurant app selected the most attractive eatery in all 50 states, with sights that ranged from the shores of the Mississippi River in New Orleans to California vineyards to Camelback Mountain in Arizona. The Nebraska restaurant, they said, has “sweeping views of the surrounding Arbor Day Farm inside the rustic dining room with lofted ceilings and wooden beams.
” The lodge also has a hotel with 140 guest rooms, a gift shop and a large indoor swimming pool. The farm is a 260-acre National Historic Landmark with scores of large trees and other greenery. In addition to its architecture and the view, Timbers also gets four stars out of five for its food on tripadvisors.
