OKLAHOMA CITY ( KFOR ) – These apple tuna sandwiches from the Oklahoma Nutrition Information and Education (ONIE) Project are easy to make and packed with protein. Ingredients 2 six-ounce cans of chunk-light tuna in water, drained 1 apple, diced 1 rib of celery, diced 1/2 cup of plain, non-fat Greek yogurt 2 tbsp. olive oil mayonnaise 12 slices of 100 percent whole-wheat bread 6 leaves of lettuce RECIPES: Treats to help you beat the heat Directions Add tuna, apples, celery, yogurt and mayonnaise to a large bowl.
Mix well. Spread tuna mixture onto six slices of bread Add lettuce to each sandwich and top with another slice of bread. Serve right away.
