The Coastal Café Guide is compiled by author Kerry O’Neill, who said: "This book celebrates the local people and independent eating places that make Britain’s coastlines unique. "There’s even a pedalling coffee and cake pedlar.” The book, published by Printslinger, comes after the independent publisher's best-selling travel guide of 2023, The Extra Mile – Delicious Alternatives to Motorway Services, which as of June 13 was titled the 'Most Gifted' guide on Amazon. Ms O'Neill's guide also include a foreword from the Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI) and honours the work of several marine- and coast-relevant charities.
Coast-focused organisations mentioned in the book include City to Sea, Surfers Against Sewage, and The Wave Project.
