If you’re in the mood for country music, polka music and dancing, the Johnstown and Berthoud dances and potluck dinner is the place to be. The dance is from 6:30-9:30 p.m.

Friday at the Johnstown Community Center, 101 W. Charlotte St. Tickets are $8 and can be purchased at the door.

Thomas Jones, longtime host, said the dances have taken place for the past 20 years, first in the Berthoud Dance Hall. There are two monthly dances at the community center, and the event draws 25-35 people depending on the night, Jones said. March 1 kicked off his year’s run of dances.

“When you dance, it’s good for the heart and soul,” Jones said. Dale “Singing” Cowboy, Jim Erhlich and the Bandits alternate headlining each dance. Erhlich performs on Friday night.

The next dance is scheduled for Friday, July 5. The final dance of the year is scheduled for New Year’s Eve, Tuesday, Dec. 31.
