Addressing an event titled ‘Empowering Youth, Transforming J&K’ at the Sher-i-Kashmir International Convention Centre, he said efforts were on to bridge emotional and geographical gaps between Delhi and J&K. He stated, “We are striving to erase any distance, be it of hearts or from Delhi.” During the event, the Prime Minister recalled his meeting with J&K leaders in June 2021, where he emphasised bridging ‘Dilli ki Dori’ (distance from Delhi) as well as ‘Dil ki Dori’ (emotional disconnect).

He refuted Opposition claims of persistent distance. Modi asserted that the abrogation of Article 370 has facilitated true implementation of the Indian Constitution in J&K, stating, “The wall of Article 370 collapsed, and constitutional benefits were ensured.” He attributed current developments in J&K to efforts over the past decade.



Commending the youth of J&K for their high voter turnout in recent elections, the Prime Minister said, “They have upheld democracy’s triumph.” He expressed gratitude for their contribution. During the event, Modi virtually laid foundations or inaugurated 84 major developmental projects valued at ₹1,500 crore and launched the ₹1,800 crore ‘Competitiveness Improvement in Agriculture and Allied Sectors (JKCIP) Project’.
