Bolton Market’s new food market has officially opened – and we went down to have a look around. The newly-built food hall offers a range of international foods – including Japanese, Caribbean, Kebabs, burgers, curry, and more – as well as soft and alcoholic drinks. Not all the stalls are yet open – with some opening next week, but there’s already a lot to try.

(Image: Jack Fifield, Newsquest) Sean Gallacher (pictured) aged 40, from Bromley Cross, wandered in to the food market on the off-chance – and was sat with a pint while waiting for his curry. He said: “I’m a regular customer at the market, wandering past I saw they were building it, I was wondering what was going on. I saw today it was open, came in and it’s some of my favourite places think.

One of the restaurants already open in the food hall was Cluck Cluck Chicken. Run by duo Lewis Yim and Hebe Wong, the new food stall offers Hainanese chicken and White Curry Pork Chops. Hebe said she was ‘really excited’ about opening.

Lewis said: “We used to cook in Hong Kong before, we wanted to start our business here to try what people like – chicken and pork ch.
