But now, a swanky spot in central London has given the millennial favourite a makeover. The 'avocado croast', which involves adding crushed avocado in the style of guacamole to a toasted croissant, is being served up at the Four Seasons Hotel in Park Lane - but not everyone is convinced by the invention which costs £26.
Pavyllon London, a restaurant within the luxury hotel, offers the breakfast as a new item on its menu; containing one flattened croissant, guacamole, a poached egg, salad and parmesan cheese.
