As we head into the busy summer season here in Cork there are plenty of seasonal attractions that range from the fun to the fascinating - and you can gain entry to them free of charge this coming Friday. To celebrate Your Council Day on July 5, Cork County Council has announced that a number of attractions under their care will have free admission. If you were waiting for a good excuse to get out and learn a bit about our history or if you're just looking to entertain the smallies for an afternoon there are plenty of options available for everyone.

One of the most exciting spots on the list is the newly reopened Camden Fort Meagher which is accepting visitors for the first time since 2022 following extensive restoration and safety works. There's even a new café on site - named 15 Fifty - which takes inspiration from the fort's rich history and staff will be serving up lovely meals all summer. There will be free entry to attractions in Kinsale, Skibbereen and Youghal among others so there'll be something for everyone this Friday - no matter where you are in the Rebel County.
