The price of one of America’s most popular affordable eats is not going up, at least for now. On May 30, Costco’s newly-minted CFO Gary Millerchip said during the chain’s Q3 2024 earnings call that the price of its iconic hot dog and soda combo will stay firm at $1.50 as it has since the 1980s.
“To clear up some recent media speculation, I also want to confirm the $1.50 hot dog price is safe,” Millerchip during the meeting, which was his first earnings call since taking over for Richard Galanti, who previously held the position. In March, Galanti sent fans of the big box store into a tizzy when he seemed to insinuate the price of its famous combo change.

” Infamously, Costco co-founder Jim Sinegal the price of this long-running meal deal wasn’t to change at all. During a luncheon, then-CEO W. Craig Jelinek said he approached Sinegal wanting to raise the price of the hot dog combo.
“‘We are losing our rear ends,’” Jelinek recalled. “And he said, ‘If you raise (the price of the) effing hot dog, I will kill you. Figure it out.
’ That’s all I really needed.” The latest update from Millerchip comes as fast-food restaurants around the country battle it out in the . McDonald’s is set to introduce a .
