Les Fromages Latino Inc. is recalling various brands of cheese because of Staphylococcus aureus contamination According to the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA), the recalled products were distributed in Alberta, British Columbia, Ontario and Quebec, Canada. About Staphylococcus aureus Staphylococcus aureus is a bacterium that usually causes rapid food poisoning symptoms, including nausea, vomiting, retching, abdominal cramping, and prostration.
In more severe cases, headache, muscle cramping and transient changes in blood pressure and pulse may occur. Recovery generally takes two days, and everyone is susceptible. While it is rare, some people have died from such infections, particularly the elderly, infants, and those who were severely debilitated.
