Saucy shots have been fired. On June 10, KFC it would be kicking off a “saucy summer” with a new roster of its Saucy Nuggets in addition to entering the with wallet-friendly meal deals. The new flavor of chicken bites became available the same day Wendy’s , meaning that fans of finger-licking are truly spoiled for choice.
While the house of Colonel Sanders back in March, Wendy’s version was June 3 and became available to order starting June 10. The chain known for its square burgers has a lineup of seven sauces for its doused poultry: Honey BBQ, Garlic Parm, Buffalo, Spicy Ghost Pepper, and spicy versions of the first three listed. Customers can also choose their preferred base nugget — crispy or spicy — and add a cooling side sauce of blue cheese or ranch.
KFC’s the first iteration of sauced chicken featured five flavors, including two that no longer appear on the menu: Georgia Gold and Sticky Chicky. The chain says it selected this season’s sauces based on consumer feedback. It kept two fan-favorites, Korean BBQ and Honey Sriracha, and added Honey BBQ to the lineup.
The Colonel is offering 10 Saucy Nuggets for $5.99, and customers can make it a combo with Secret Recipe Fries and a drink: “KFC guests have loved our Saucy Nuggets and we’re excited to continue to introduce new flavors into the mix,” Nick Chavez, KFC U.S.
