Arby’s is bringing back its potato cakes for the first time in three years. The fast food chain announced it will bring back the for a limited time. Potato cakes were a signature Arby’s menu item since it was founded in 1964, but they were discontinued in 2021.

The cakes will come in a pack of three with the starting price at $2.39. One serving is 247 calories.



Part of the decision to bring them back was demand from Arby’s customers. Fans made petitions and accounts dedicated to bringing back potato cakes to Arbys. Rita Patel, Arby’s brand president, said: “Arby’s has built a reputation on offering bold, delicious menu items – from our well-known classics like Roast Beef Sandwiches and Jamocha Shake to our limited-time specials like the Bourbon BBQ Sandwiches – that fans ask for again and again.

“Now, we’re bringing back , one of our most requested and most beloved items, to celebrate the true love, passion, and devotion our guests show for them day in and day out.” The company has released several videos announcing the item’s return, all starring Kyle MacLachlan, of Dune, Desperate Housewives and Twin Peaks fame. In one, he drives to his local Arby’s to ask for the ' return, in which he finds a potato cake glowing golden in the ground.

In another, he’s started a cult called the Order of Arby’s Potato Cakes, urging fans to "fulfill the prophecy" of "true Potato Cake enlightenment." He said: “As a devotee myself, I’m proud to enlighten all Pot.
