With the critical vote counting set for June 4, Andhra Pradesh police force is taking extensive measures to ensure the process remains incident-free. In a series of realistic and meticulously planned mock drills conducted in Ongole, officers are being rigorously trained to handle potential disturbances effectively. These mock drills are convincingly realistic, designed to simulate potential conflict scenarios that might arise during the vote counting.

The drills are part of a comprehensive strategy to maintain public order and safety, particularly in light of the violent clashes that marred polling day on May 13. During the elections, several districts in Andhra Pradesh witnessed severe disturbances, leading to the registration of 33 cases of poll-related violence. A staggering 1,370 individuals were named as accused in these incidents.



The violence prompted the Election Commission of India (ECI) to take stringent actions against local officials and to launch a Special Investigation Team (SIT) probe into the events. To further ensure security and prevent any recurrence of violence, 25 companies of central paramilitary forces are currently deployed across the state. These forces are working in tandem with local law enforcement to safeguard the integrity of the electoral process.
