Stepping into FatFire in LaLaport Bukit Bintang City Centre, Kuala Lumpur, is like entering a vibrant imaginary world, thanks to the colourful interior dominated by a brightly hued mural depicting The Three Witches of Mardi Gras. The striking hand-painted work of art, encompassing mystical fire butterflies and gecko motifs, symbolises the restaurant’s transformative adaptability. The word “fat” in FatFire KL embodies feast, fun and fulfilment, promising a dining experience to satiate both the stomach and the soul.

Our lunch began on a high note as we took advantage of the restaurant’s refreshing offer of any three classic cocktails for RM70.
A steal indeed, and even at RM24.90 each, the individual cocktails are still reasonably priced. The first thirst-quencher was Sangria, a delightful mix of brandy, rum, red wine, and fruits whilst the mug of Moscow Mule comprised vodka, lime juice, and ginger ale.
However, it was the Cosmopolitan that won our dining party’s unanimous approval thanks to the pleasing concoction of vodka, cranberry juice, triple sec, and lime juice. Catfish and Chips Fuelling our appetite from the get-go was Talapia Popcorn (RM27). Lightly coated in spiced batter, the bite-size pieces of fish were golden-fried to perfection.
Dipped in Cajun mayo and remoulade sauce, the moreish.
