Two well-known West Reading businesses have shut their doors until further notice. Nitro Bar and West Reading Motor Club restaurant, both at 416 Penn Ave., posted on their Facebook pages Thursday that they are closed.

It is not clear if or when the businesses will reopen. Restaurateur Adam Cocuzza, who owns the businesses, did not respond to a request for comment. However, on Thursday, Cocuzza posted about the closures of Nitro Bar and West Reading Motor Club on his Facebook page, saying he is “spent.



” “I’ve been at it for 12 yrs on this avenue. I pledged to serve this community until I can no longer, and honestly, I can no longer,” he said in his post. Nitro Bar opened in 2019 on the second floor of the former A to Z Vacuum building at 416 Penn Ave.

Cocuzza’s father, Frank Cocuzza, purchased the building in 2016, and the pair began renovations. West Reading Motor Club restaurant opened in September 2023 on the first floor at 416 Penn Ave. A third West Reading restaurant owned by Cocuzza, Say Cheese! at 600 Penn Ave.
