Football fever's set to grip Sheffield during the Euros , but that’s not all fans of the beautiful game have to look forward to this summer. These photos give a first look inside a new retro football theme park opening soon on Little London Road in Heeley, Sheffield . The old Arnold Laver timber depot there has been transformed into Yard Ball, an immersive football attraction which is due to open in time for the summer holidays.

The nostalgia-tinged venue will challenge all-comers to show off their football skills on the lovingly recreated streets of yesterday, where dustbins, garage doors and car boots are among the targets. You can check the power of your shot and see the speed lit up on a good old-fashioned Teletext-style display, take on the crossbar challenge, or attempt to chip the ball through the hole in a Fab lolly. You can even attempt to find the top bin, like in Soccer AM’s famous Volley Challenge, among other tests of your footballing talents.

The 50,000 sq ft attraction, described as Britain’s first street football experience, promises to transport visitors back to the days before half-and-half scarves, GPS tracking vests and, of course, VAR. The nostalgia fest continues off-street, with food to take you back through the decades, from spicy tacos inspirred by Mexico ‘86, pizza from Italia ‘90 and fish and chips from Euro ‘96. Adults can try a pint from the social club, while children can play the retro aracde games or blast out their favourite tunes .
