Listen to Story England opening batter Ben Duckett etched his name in record books as he registered the fastest fifty by an England opener in Test cricket on Thursday, July 18 at Trent Bridge, Nottingham. Opening the innings for his side on Day 1 of the second Test, Duckett lost his partner Zak Crawley early on who edged Alzarri Joseph to third slip. However, the early loss didn’t bring any change in Duckett’s plans who began his innings in quite a dramatic fashion by scoring four consecutive boundaries against Jayden Seales.
Duckett started his innings with a gorgeous cover drive which went racing away for a four and cut the second ball away towards point to get the second consecutive four. WI vs ENG 2nd Test Live After conceding back to back boundaries, Seales switched sides to come around the wicket but it made no difference as Duckett flicked him off his pads to the wide open space at deep mid-wicket to score a hat trick of boundaries. The English opener drove another half volley towards cover to register his fourth consecutive boundary.
